From 1947 through 1955, post WWII Chevrolet really entered the civilian truck race with their “Advanced Design”. Billed as a larger, stronger and sleeker design to earlier models. The engine that would be used in these earlier models would be the tried and true 216 cubic inch 6 cylinder that would later become the 235 and or the first Corvette “Blue Flame 6-cylinder”. This particular stunning example is a finished in GM Marina Blue from the late 1960’s, features a very stunning Cherrywood bed with stainless accents. It is the desirable Borg Warner 3-speed with overdrive, has been converted from 6-volt to 12-volt and alternator. This is a Pacific NW vehicle originally and it shows. The metal, paint-work, trim, glass is all in very good condition. It has also been mildly modified with Offenhauser, twin carbs, larger head and dual exhaust. This 3100 has a really nice quiet grumble. It starts perfectly and fast, idles instantly, has no smoke or leaks and goes down the road very smoothly and garnishes all the attention. All the lights and gauges work as they should and is all around a really nice truck for the money.
