In 1975, Porsche transitioned its turbocharged racing technology to their street production cars, debuting the 930. With its bold new design and enhanced turbo power, the 930 quickly established itself as a prominent exotic car. Over time, with upgrades and the addition of the “Flachbau” or slant-nose design, it became one of the most revered supercars of the 1980s. The “Flachbau” was inspired by the dominant 935 race cars, which secured Porsche’s victories in the FIA World Championship for Makes from 1976 to 1979. Available exclusively through Porsche’s Special Wish program, each car’s hand-crafted nose made them rare and expensive. The demand was so high that companies like DP and American International Racing began converting 911 and 930 models to the slant-nose look originally designed for racing.
